An Important Update About Our Veterinary Team

We want to share an important update about PenBay Veterinary Associates and what it means for you and your pets.

As some of you are already aware, our hospital has entered a new chapter. Dr. Bailey has left the veterinary profession, although we will miss her greatly, we are filled with gratitude for her contributions to our practice. Dr. Bouchard has moved to a position at our sister hospital, Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital. Although we'll miss having her on our team as well, we’re happy to continue working with her as a colleague. We've put plans in place to ensure our hospital remains open and continues serving our patients throughout this transition.

What This Means for Your Pet's Care

We have already begun the search for our next full-time veterinarian. Our hospital will continue serving clients with the support of our experienced relief veterinarians who share our commitment to high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine.

Because relief veterinarian schedules may vary, there may be some days when a veterinarian is not available in the hospital. During those times, our team will still be here to provide the following support services:

• Answer phone calls and questions.

• Assist with prescription refills and food purchases

• Help coordinate appointments and follow-up care

• Provide guidance and support whenever possible

The PenBay Veterinary Associates staff remains dedicated to making this transition as smooth as possible for both you and your pets.

Finding Veterinary Care

We encourage you to continue scheduling your pet's wellness visits, vaccinations, sick appointments, and other routine care with us at PenBay Veterinary Associates. We remain open and look forward to continuing to care for your pet whenever possible.

If your pet requires services that cannot be provided at our hospital during this transition, we'll help coordinate care through our sister hospitals, Rockland Animal Hospital or Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital.

Surgery and Dental Procedures

While we are recruiting a new veterinarian, dental procedures and surgeries will be performed at our sister hospital, Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital. These procedures may be completed by Dr. Bouchard or another trusted veterinarian on the Harbor Road team, ensuring your pet continues to receive exceptional care.

Our team will work closely with you to coordinate these appointments and answer any questions along the way.

What's Next

Our priority is finding the next veterinarian to join our team, and we are actively recruiting for this important role.

In the meantime, we'll continue to provide the friendly service and compassionate support you've come to expect from our staff while working alongside our relief veterinarians and our colleagues at Rockland Animal Hospital and Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital.
